The RoleWe are looking for an Electrical Engineer with programming experience to play a key technical role in the development and maintenance of industry-leading software packages for integrated process engineering, cost estimation, and process modeling. A suitable candidate will be responsible for modeling the design and cost estimation of electrical/power and instrumentation/control systems within a process plant environment.

Your Impact
  • Collaborate with product managers, product designers and customers to develop detailed specifications and estimates for new capabilities/features within Estimating software applications.
  • Design, code, implement, and test features within applications.
  • Further enhance and maintain existing system electrical/instrumentation models.
  • Prepare certain test procedures needed to accomplish QE objectives.
  • Provide initial/summary documentation to be used in end-user documentation.
  • Keep current with new and developing technologies as they appear in industry and assist in determining the feasibility of adopting new technologies.
  • Provide technical support to product management, product marketing, and customer and business support on customer activities.
  • Complete annual electrical pricing updates.

What You'll Need
  • BS Electrical Engineering required, MS Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in design and construction of process plant power requirements (e.g. substation, MCC, cable sizes, equipment grounding, electrical heat tracing, plant lighting etc.).
  • Well versed in NEC and IEC standards.
  • Experience estimating power/electrical components of Capital projects is a plus.
  • Familiarity with electrical single line diagrams is a plus.
  • Proficiency in FORTRAN and C++ programming is a plus.
  • Familiarity with .NET programming languages (C#, VB.NET) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Windows desktop application development is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, writing and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrate ability to provide technical leadership.
