Applied Energy Group (AEG), a division of Ameresco, is seeking an Consultant - Statistical Analysis position that is a project/task management position where the primary role involves managing the analysis of energy usage, energy efficiency or demand response interventions, cost-effectiveness, utility customer experience or characterization, and other related energy analyses. The ideal candidate will have experience working with energy utilities, expertise in statistical analysis, and a thorough understanding of program evaluation best practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage complex projects or tasks which may include statistical analyses, analysis of fuel and utility bills, estimation of energy efficiency savings and costs, measure engineering analysis, program benefit-cost analysis, program development and planning, evaluation analysis, market research, survey design, and secondary research.
  • Independently perform a wide range of highly complex, energy-related analyses.
  • Independently manage assigned tasks, analyses, and projects to the project manager, project director, and/or manager's satisfaction.
  • Develop project deliverables including written memos, reports, and presentations, and manage the QA/QC process on those deliverables to the project director's satisfaction.
  • Communicate analytical methods and results to clients in a clear and effective manner.
  • Perform QA/QC on complex analysis performed by others to ensure deliverables are high quality, sensible, and error-free.
  • Approve technical decisions related to complex research, planning, and data analysis.
  • Build and maintain client relationships to maximize productivity and cultivate future opportunities.
  • Develop and execute analysis plans for complex tasks and/or projects.
  • Develop and demonstrate expertise in a chosen practice area by staying at the forefront of industry methods and innovations.
  • Mentor and guide junior staff on analysis and project work.
  • Contribute to business development and/or proposals, and
  • Other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in economics, statistics, mathematics, or a related field.
  • 6 or more years of industry experience, particularly experience in energy modeling through program planning, evaluation, or implementation.

Additional Qualifications:

  • MA/MS in a related field preferred.
  • Consulting experience preferred.
  • Leading skills in analysis, problem-solving, and decision-making.
  • Leading skills with one or more programming languages, e.g., R, Stata, or Python.
  • Demonstrated excellence in both verbal and written communication.
  • Demonstrated excellence with the development of analysis plans for discrete tasks and/or projects.
  • Demonstrated excellence with QA/QC approaches and procedures.
  • Team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Sound business ethics, including the protection of proprietary and confidential information.
  • Superior interpersonal skills including courtesy, professionalism, and a cooperative attitude.
  • Strong organizational skills with a proven ability to follow through on multiple tasks and priorities.
