We have a new opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to join our West-Construction Operations team in support renewable energy projects. We are looking for talented team players with initiative, drive, creativity and vision. In addition, we are seeking individuals who are critical thinkers, possess the drive to achieve quick results with accountability, and have experience working in a fast-paced environment with multiple project responsibilities running concurrently. Ideal candidates will have a passion for the solar industry, experience managing people, and direct P&L experience of renewable projects of at least $1M or greater.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily administrative and technical management of renewable construction projects delivering energy savings for public, institutional, industrial, government, and commercial customers.

  • Management of full project budget, project schedule, and financial analysis. Ensure compliance with the company's financial policies and procedures to include revenue recognition policies and project set up rules. Serve as a liaison between the business office and operations.

  • Direct interface with Ameresco customers managing customer service, relationships, contracts, etc. Collaborate with the financial administrators on the monthly reconciliation of billed/unbilled vs. revenue activity to include researching unexplained reconciling items.

  • Assist engineering and development team in project design and development including scope, subcontractor selection, cost estimation, installation, and project scheduling. Regularly monitor assigned project performance and cost estimates to forecast estimates at completion (EAC) for reasonableness against plans and actual expense rate.

  • Solicit bids, negotiate scope, and coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to assure competitive cost, best schedule and delivery for all project-related equipment, supply installations, and construction services.

  • Directly manage vendors, subcontractors, and construction managers (site superintendents) to ensure quality control and project delivery on time and within budget, while meeting or exceeding customer expectations.

  • Schedule management: update schedules to reflect current information, monitor critical path activities, and track outstanding items.

  • Work closely with the project finance, construction, and O&M services teams to satisfy all requirements for commercial operation and financial close.

  • Manage project expenditures and job cost accounting processes: including accuracy, documentation, approvals, payment reporting, monthly forecasting and tracking. Ensure compliance with company, industry, trade, and jurisdictional safety standards, practices, codes.

  • Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, project management or related field; or the equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience.

  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience with electrical, mechanical, engineering, or industrial power construction project management focusing on commercial solar installations, energy storage implementation, complex facility infrastructure construction, renovations, retrofits, upgrades, and/or energy services.

Additional Requirements:

  • Direct P&L responsibility for Commercial Solar, Renewable Energy or Power Generation projects from $1M - $25M. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and foster positive business relationships.

  • Proven experience with OSHA safety standards, mechanical and electrical systems development, engineering, and project management regulations, practices, and codes.

  • Demonstrated experience managing people.

  • Strong verbal, written, computer, technical communication and presentation skills.

  • Proficient computer skills including MS Word, Excel, MS Project

  • Ability to review confidential US security information.

  • Valid Driver's license in good standing, issued by resident state.

  • Will be required to pass security clearance investigation.

  • May require on-call response and travel.
