Duties: The Lighting Design Engineer at CNH Industrial America LLC in Oak Brook, IL will work with lighting components which are electromechanical devices and lead various lighting development projects on the large tractors, sprayers, and some harvesting machines, as well as support lighting standards development. The duties include creating and preserving the performance specifications and DVPs for lighting components. Proposing concepts for new programs to enhance customer experience and solve problems. Performing technical evaluations to select the best solution for the project. Collaborating across multiple disciplines within the organization to aid in driving decisions from stakeholders. Acting as technical liaison between the supplier and all internal CNH teams. Reviewing supplier designs in depth and critiquing various aspects of the design during development. Signing off the design for release into production, reviewing, and approving Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis {"DFMEA")'s, FEAs, Computational Fluid Dynamics ("CFD")'s, Optics, electrical schematics, BOM, 2D/3D, DVPRs. Assisting in risk management when dealing with COTS/Modified COTS designs. Ensuring HW (hardware) development process is followed. Leading projects with accountability for on time delivery and various types of lighting projects (GPD, CPM, and TCR). Effectively working and communicating with global teams. Contributing towards technology roadmaps, actively managing the product portfolio to support business needs, and keeping up with technology trends. Participating and representing CNHi in international committees for lighting topics. Documenting and implementing lessons implemented back into specifications. Telecommuting permitted up to 5 days per week. Salary: $99,000-$145,200/year.

Minimum Requirements: Requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a directly related field, plus 2 years of experience as a Product Engineer, Product Quality Engineer, or related occupation. The 2 years of experience must include 2 years of experience with each of the following: 1) Developing lighting component Design Failure Modes Effects Analysis and utilizing the tool; 2) Creating, updating and reviewing the product bill of materials; 3) Developing Design Verification Plan and Reports and analyzing the corresponding test reports for sign off; 4) Performing technical evaluations and resolving design issues; 5) Designing and developing all product aspects of lighting development including electrical, mechanical and optical elements; and 6) Managing the component family database.
