SUMMARY:
We are currently seeking a 1.0 FTE Speech Language Pathologist to join our committed team of professionals in providing patient and family centered services for adults in the inpatient setting with occasional work in the outpatient setting. The ideal candidate will have specialized experience providing services for patients with Head & Neck cancer including laryngectomy (pre-op and post-op), TEP placement and dysphagia management pre-, during and post- chemo/radiation treatment. Additionally, the candidate will have experience working with patients with dysphagia, aphasia, dysarthria, cognitive-linguistic disorders and aphonia secondary to tracheostomy including experience working with the Passy Muir Valve. Experience with conducting Modified Barium Swallow Studies and evaluation of swallowing via FEES highly desired.
Purpose of the position: Under general supervision, an employee in this job class performs work in a licensed professional position providing diagnostic, treatment, and education services to patients with communication and swallowing disorders of functional or organic etiologies.
