The Assistant Director, Campaign and Leadership Initiatives reports to the Sr. Director, Campaign Planning, in a dynamic development office at one of the nation's foremost teaching and research hospitals. This individual is a key contributor on the campaign team and will partner closely with teams across the Brigham Development Office and the offices of the President, Academic Medical Centers, and President, Brigham and Women's Hospital to manage leadership activities.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as the Brigham Development Office (BDO) liaison for all activity related to the institutional presidents and chief medical officer.
  • Coordinate and handle all scheduling requests (events, donor meetings, committees, etc.) from the Development Office with the presidents' offices
  • Facilitate approval for materials that require presidential review (acknowledgments, speaking points, special letters, communication objectives, etc.) and require presidential signatures
  • Manage the coordination and tracking of donor meetings/activity when the presidents are involved and ensure timely delivery of briefing materials
  • Responsible for the compilation of a presidential activity email and ensure timely delivery to the Chief Development Officer weekly
  • Serve as the point person for all presidential travel associated with donor meetings and events
  • Manage weekly presidential strategy meetings with senior members of the BDO, including taking meeting minutes and preparing agendas
  • Create process documentation and BDO education materials for presidential activity; provide educational sessions on process to new staff
  • Spearhead presidential activity reporting needs, with Information Systems, and ensure database accuracy
  • Collaborate on presidential presentation materials, as needed
  • Assist with planning and management of special projects, including special fundraising initiatives
  • Occasional night and weekend hours supporting development activities
  • All other duties as assigned
Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Four to six years of professional work experience, with a specific focus on project management, preferably in a Philanthropy/Development setting
  • Proven track record to deal with highly confidential information and act as a liaison between Brigham Development Office leadership with the Presidents' offices, and others, both internal and external
  • Appreciation for and dedication to the mission of Mass General Brigham and the ability to effectively articulate those missions and visions

SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

  • Superb organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with strong proofreading ability
  • A strong and collaborative working ability across many levels of Development and hospital staff, including with senior management
  • Flexible and adaptable to change. Accepts and incorporates new ideas to innovate work processes and procedures; quickly learns new ways and methods of doing things and handles stressful situations with a positive demeanor.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven ability to deal with highly confidential information and act as a liaison between the Office of the Presidents, the Chief Development Officer, Sr. Leadership, and volunteer leadership.
  • Excellent computer literacy using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are required; experience with CRM preferred
  • Upbeat and positive teammate
